From the field to the table: products from Ibiza that tell the story of the island

Ibiza is also discovered through its flavours. Behind each local product there is a history linked to the land, the Mediterranean and generations that have managed to preserve the knowledge and traditions of the island.

From its olive groves and vineyards to honey and aromatic herbs, we invite you to discover a pantry that speaks of identity, quality and respect for the origin.

A Mediterranean pantry with centuries of history

Ibiza's gastronomy is the reflection of a territory where the sea and the countryside have coexisted for centuries.

The Mediterranean climate, the island's soils and the knowledge passed down between generations have given rise to a varied pantry, deeply linked to the seasons and natural resources.

Almonds, carobs, figs, olives, garden products and fresh fish are part of a culinary tradition that has been able to take advantage of what each season of the year has to offer. Simple ingredients that, treated with respect, become the protagonists of recipes full of character.

We also find products especially linked to the identity of Ibiza, such as sobrasada, traditional cheese or sweets as representative as flaó, made with fresh cheese and mint, country muffins, orelletes with their characteristic aniseed flavour and greixonera, a dessert that traditionally allows you to take advantage of ensaimadas.

Today, this heritage is still present both in family tables and in the proposals of chefs who reinterpret Mediterranean cuisine.

A connection between past and present that proves that the quality of a dining experience begins long before it reaches the plate.

Four products from Ibiza with a seal of quality and origin

Among the great gastronomic treasures of the island, four products stand out that have official recognition of quality and origin, a reflection of their uniqueness and their close relationship with the territory.

The Hierbas Ibizencas, recognised with a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), are one of the most characteristic symbols of the Pityusic tradition. This aniseed liqueur is made by combining different aromatic plants, including rosemary, thyme, fennel and other species linked to the Mediterranean landscape. A recipe that evokes the aromas of the Ibizan countryside and is part of the local gastronomic culture.

Ibiza Honey, protected by the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), represents another of the great links between gastronomy and nature. Its personality is closely related to the floral diversity of the island and the work of bees, which are essential for pollination and the balance of ecosystems.

For its part, Vi de la Terra Eivissa, with a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), recovers a winemaking tradition whose origins date back to the Phoenician presence. Varieties such as Monastrell and Malvasia Aromatica, traditionally known as Grec, give rise to wines that express the character of the soil, climate and history of Ibiza.

This selection is completed by the Oli d'Eivissa, also recognised with a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). Olive oil has been part of the island's agricultural and food culture for centuries, and today it continues to be an essential ingredient of Mediterranean cuisine, appreciated for its quality and organoleptic characteristics.

Four different products that share the same essence: the desire to preserve the flavours that make Ibiza a unique territory.

Choosing local products is much more than a gastronomic decision. It is also a way of contributing to the conservation of the rural landscape, supporting the continuity of traditional activities and keeping alive a fundamental part of Ibiza's identity.

Cultivated fields, olive groves, vineyards and farms are part of the island's landscape heritage. Their maintenance contributes to preserving spaces that have been shaped for generations and that today represent one of the most authentic faces of Ibiza.

In this context, quality and origin seals play an important role, as they allow products linked to the territory and made according to specific requirements to be recognized. They also help to value the knowledge of those who work the land and keep these traditions alive.

From the most traditional gastronomy to signature proposals, local produce offers endless possibilities to discover Ibiza through the senses. Betting on it means appreciating the quality, provenance and stories behind each ingredient.

Because to know Ibiza is also to savour it, to understand its roots and to recognise the value of a land that has a lot to offer beyond its landscapes.
