    Cayetana Guillén Cuervo

She began her career at 15, while continuing with her studies. At the beginning of the 1990s she performed in two plays with the Strion Company under Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, together with her brother Fernando Guillén Cuervo: “Entre bobos anda el juego” (1991) and “Thriller imposible” (1992). She later came under the directorship of Adolfo Marsillach at the National Company of Classical Theatre, where she interpreted Cervantes’ “La Gran Sultana” (1993) and Lope de Vega's “Fuenteovejuna” (1993)

In the second half of the decade, setting her theatrical career to one side, she achieved her greatest successes on the big screen: she acted in “Todo sobre mi madre" ("All About My Mother”) by Pedro Almodóvar, “Más que amor, frenesí” by Alfonso Albacete, and most importantly, she starred in two of José Luis Garci\'s most notable films: “La herida luminosa” ("The Wound of Light", 1997), in which she acted with her father, and “El abuelo” ("The Grandfather", 1998) with Fernando Fernán Gómez in the leading role. This latter film received an Oscar nomination for best foreign film while Cayetana Guillén received a Goya nomination for best leading actress and the CEC award.

In 1998, she began working as a television host, a role she would maintain for at least 15 years, always on the Spanish TV network “La 2”. She combines her acting career with her career as a communicator. While graduating in Journalism she also studied Drama.

For 8 years, she worked with Iñaki Gabilondo, whom she considers her mentor, on the programme “Hoy por Hoy” on the "SER" radio network. She also directed and hosted “A vivir que son 2 días”, for a few months, also on the "SER" network. She also runs her own production company.

    How I found Ibiza...

I have been going to Ibiza for half of my life. In many ways, my best hostess has been María Antonia Rodríguez, one of my best friends (she is the wife of Carles Sans, from Tricicle). She is just wonderful, she cares for her friends as if they were the world's most valuable treasure. I go to the island as often as I can. I know lots of spots where I can lose myself, but there is one spot in particular that is part of a dream come true.

    Some of its myriad facets...

The variety of people. Only on Ibiza can you enjoy such a diverse group of friends. I love it.

    A Luxury on the island...

Anything can happen. Whatever you think of. Sometimes I giggle just thinking about it. It seems like a lie... but it isn’t!

    My favourite moment...

I have a long list of wonderful friends that make Ibiza my retreat from this world: Dani, Francisco, Fred, Anita, Alba, Antonio....Each one of them makes the island a unique place. Summer dinners, sunsets, Santa Inés almond trees in Spring, June at the small cove, or memories of our wedding at San Carlos, on the north of the island.

A memory when I’m far away...

The sea, the places where I spend time with my friends, the lack of schedules, the showers after the beach, the long days...

    The magic of Ibiza...

It’s a free island. It truly is. It’s the best place in the world to enjoy your true self. Because nobody questions you.

    What I tell my friends...

I love welcoming people to an island that always goes beyond my wildest expectations. Because no matter what you are looking for, you'll find it here.
